Dome

The glass surface of the stained-glass dome shown here is 10.5 square meters. It is made of blown and hand-rolled cathedral glass manufactured specifically for this work by the German Glashütte Lamberts glass factory using the lead rail technique.

Besides the application of the lead rail technology, the stability of the dome is provided by the special bracing structure designed and manufactured by us.

The stainless-steel support structure holding the dome was also designed and got manufactured by our company.

The 24 parts of the stained-glass dome consist of 1,820 glass elements and are decorated with 144 polished crystal gemstones and countless faceted glass elements that make this piece special and unique.

Canopy

This monumental canopy is decorated with 160 pieces of 37 x 37 cm leaded decorative glass cassettes made using the fusing technique. The decorative glass cassettes are housed in a 3-layer heat-insulated, tempered glass structure therefore they can withstand extreme weather.

The total size of the decorative glass inserts decorating the canopy is 22 square meters.

Our company designed the steel support structure as well.

Entrance

The main entrance portal shown here, including the glass elements, is more than 12.5 meters and two stories high.

The decorative glass windows are made of hand-rolled cathedral glass from the Glashütte Lamberts and Uroboros glass factories.

On the ground floor, next to the huge double-winged entrance door, visitors are greeted by one long and one shorter stained-glass panel on both sides.

The pattern of the decorative glass contains both classic and modern elements. The edge faceted elements provide impressive elegance for the decorative glass.

The pattern of the stained-glass structure upstairs represents a much freer, more playful style. We strove here for modern elegance as well and for harmony with the glass inserts on the ground floor.

The decorative glass family upstairs consist of 8 glass windows, the largest window element is more than 2×1 meters in size. Due to its dimensions only lead rail technology could be considered, as this is the only way to ensure the appropriate stability of such a large glass surface.

The stained-glass windows upstairs were decorated with polished crystal stones, which provide the piece an incredibly generous, elegant look.

Engineering design

After consultations with the customer of their expectations, every one of our workpieces is forwarded to engineers. We prepare the plans using the AutoCAD program. As a result, the decorative glass work produced will be demanding and precise. For instance, we create the designs of a stained-glass dome in a 3D model for the customer.

For 3-dimensional decorative glass works – such as a convex dome – a template is made every time with exact dimensions, which is manufactured based on engineering design using a CNC milling machine. The template makes it possible to make each stained-glass element with an accuracy of a tenth of a millimeter and to keep the curve of the decorative glass element at the dome.

Glasses

We only work with the highest quality art glass, which is mostly 3-4 mm thick. The thickness of these glasses also depends on their production: machine-drawn, blown or hand-rolled glass.

Our glass brands: Glashütte Lamberts, Bullseye, Uroboros, Schott Glas, and we are also pleased to work with glass products from the Spectrum factory as well.

Lead rail is very important in architectural decorative glass work as it gives the glass its stability and increases its load-bearing capacity. We work with several types and sizes of lead rails during production. The overall size, the pattern and the thickness of the decorative glass to be made all influence the sorts of lead rails.

We are keen on ornamenting our decorative architectural glasses with crystal jewelry glasses of various sizes and colors, polished and blown glass elements. We place great emphasis on the harmony of decorative glass and decorative elements as well as on elegance.

Installation

If required, our company also undertakes the installation of the completed architectural decorative glass. It is important to note that this work process should be the last step during construction or renovation to avoid possible damage to the decorative glass as well as to protect it from major contamination.
